Описание

Duration of the project is 12 months Expected Starting Date: Immediate UNDP Country Office in Armenia is a well-established and growing office, with 80 staff and long-term project personnel, an approximate annual budget of $14 million, and a broad range of innovative partnerships. The three main areas of work are: democratic governance (including border management), energy and environment and sustainable local development. UNDP works very closely with the government at central and local level, and partners with a wide range of bilateral donors – Austria, EU, Germany, Russia, US, Switzerland, UK, as well as global and vertical funds, including being the first recipient of the Green Climate Fund funding in the region. In addition, the Country Office has become a global pioneer for UNDP’s partnerships with the IFIs and increasingly the private sector (through its Impact Investment platform). In this context, the Country Office has launched the design of a number of new Youth programmes that will respond to the new government’s priorities and reflect the changes realities and self-perceptions of Armenia’s youth. These programmes will include, among others, the focus on creating a new generation of jobs and retraining in new skills for Armenia’s rural youth; boosting the creative and leadership potential of young men and women in the context of increasingly decentralized system of governance; linking youth initiatives to the most vibrant areas of economic activity – agriculture, IT and tourism – prioritized by the Programme of the new government.
