Description
A pilot project in terms of housing: ■ A passive construction, on a human scale, in the heart of the city of Louvain-la-Neuve. ■ A grouped housing unit that brings together 8 young adults IMC’s, an Erasmus student with reduced mobility, a student working on a disability-related issue, two carers and their families. A pilot project in terms of support: ■ A personalized life project. ■ A maximum of autonomy with a maximum of social links. Location Louvain-La-Neuve The youngest city in Belgium was created in the early 1970s when the Francophone university faculties split with Leuven and set up camp(us) near Ottignies in the French-speaking part of Brabant. Much of life revolves around collegiate life – indeed the entire town belongs to the university – though its brick pedestrian lanes, forested fringes and master-planned design make for an intriguing wander. The chief draw is the architecturally stunning Musée Hergé, dedicated to the famed creator of Tintin.
