Description

What you’ll do - Provide patient care and consultations at the clinic and during community outreach visits. - Support the clinical team in responding to urgent cases, within your professional scope of practice and local clinical protocols. - Educate patients and families about prevention, self-care, and healthy practices. - Support daily clinic operations and help maintain a respectful, welcoming environment for patients, volunteers, and staff. - Keep medical records and complete required clinical documentation. What’ s Included - Pre-departure guidance and full on-site orientation - Accommodation at the clinic - Daily vegetarian meals - Participation certificate - Ongoing support as you adapt to rural clinic life and work as part of an international team Who c an join - Age 21+ - Licensed to practice in your home country (MD, RN, PA , etc. ) - Able to assess and treat common outpatient conditions within your scope of practice - Spanish at B1 level or higher — or motivated to reach it before departure; we’ll help you prepare - Adaptable to rural clinic life, including limited internet, basic facilities, and working as part of an international team - Aligned with our values and committed to equal access to healthcare

Your contribution We are an independent nonprofit organization. To help keep our clinics running and cover the essential costs of living and working in a remote area, we ask each international volunteer to contribute $150 per week. This contribution helps cover : - accommodation and daily meals - water, electricity, internet, and cooking gas - local logistics and operating costs - medical supplies, medications, and other essentials Because our clinics are in remote areas, these costs are higher than usual. Your contribution supports both your stay and the clinic’s year-round work. Support for local volunteers As part of our commitment to strengthening local healthcare capacity, Health & Help covers participation costs for volunteers from Guatemala and Nicaragua. Local medical professionals bring cultural knowledge, continuity of care, and long-term commitment, helping strengthen healthcare from within.
